In this exciting role, you will be instrumental in efficiently managing and resolving a diverse portfolio of Commercial and Domestic claims, both Motor and Non-motor, within your delegated authority.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Mastering the Claims Process: Taking ownership of claims from initial notification to final settlement, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company guidelines.
  • Information Gathering Ace: Skillfully collecting and meticulously reviewing all necessary information and documentation to validate claims effectively.
  • Proactive Follow-Up Champion: Diligently pursuing outstanding information and documentation to expedite claim resolution and provide timely updates.
  • Collaborative Problem Solver: Actively participating in discussions and contributing to strategies for the fair and efficient settlement of claims.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Providing clear, consistent, and professional feedback to insured parties, brokers, and management throughout the claims journey.
  • Fairness Advocate: Upholding the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) in every interaction and ensuring equitable claim settlements.
  • Professional Relationship Builder: Cultivating strong, professional relationships with insured clients, brokers, and insurers.
  • Service Excellence Ambassador: Consistently delivering exceptional service that aligns with Howdie’s commitment to excellence.
  • Valued Networker: Building and maintaining positive relationships with key service providers, assessors, and brokers.

 

What you’ll bring to the Howdie team:

  • A Matric certificate as a foundational qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of solid claims handling experience in the short-term insurance sector.
  • FAIS compliance (advantageous), demonstrating your understanding of industry regulations.
  • Strong computer literacy skills to navigate our systems effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing you to articulate clearly and empathetically.
  • A collaborative spirit and proven ability to build positive working relationships with supervisors and peers.
  • A strong team player mentality, contributing to a supportive and productive work environment.
  • The ability to make sound decisions within your mandate, demonstrating your confidence and judgment.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with a knack for finding the best solutions for complex claims.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills to manage your daily tasks effectively.
  • Strong time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
