Michael Nicolaou
Branch Manager – Johannesburg
I started my insurance journey with Hollard in 2011 as Finance Manager in HSB (Hollard Select Brokers), where I was integrally involved with the Binder Brokers. I then transitioned to Business Development Manager in 2016 , and was appointed Head: Binder Brokers in the Joburg Region in 2019.
I have recently joined Howdie and look forward to running the Johannesburg branch with passion, insight, and integrity. My goal is to help Howdie brokers see significant growth within their brokerage and help them develop big influence within the industry. That is my commitment to you!

Karina Campbell
Broker Consultant
I began my insurance career in 2013 with Santam Hospitality and Leisure as a receptionist. I was promoted to Claims Administrator in 2014, and then to Underwriter in 2015. In May 2019, I was promoted to Portfolio Manager for Johannesburg. In this role, I won the Portfolio Manager of the Year award in 2020 and 2021.
I am passionate about building solid relationships with brokers, which is why the move to Howdie was an easy decision. Howdie’s dedication to solving broker pain points and helping them grow their business is something I look forward to in my role as your broker consultant.
Juan Coetzee
Branch Manager – Cape Town
I joined the insurance industry in 1999 as a legal clerk at M&F. Over the next few years, I gained experience in underwriting, claims, and business development. In 2006, I joined AIG to specialize in corporate insurance and specialist lines. While continuing to develop my knowledge and expertise through the years, I worked for a number of well-known insurers including Regent, the Santam Group, C-Sure (now Santam Real Estate), and more recently Managing Director of H&L in Johannesburg from 2015 to 2021.
I am passionate about the insurance industry and committed to providing the best possible service to our broker partners.
